SUB-PROJECT 5 IMPLEMENTS IN-DEPTH INTERVIEWS ON RISKS REGARDING THE DRAGON FRUIT SUPPLY CHAIN IN BINH THUAN PROVINCE
In the second-year activity plan under the framework of the IUC Program, the delegation of Sub-project 5, led by Dr. Truong Thi Thanh Phuong, conducted a survey of stakeholders related to the dragon fruit supply chain in Binh Thuan province from April 1 to April 10, 2024.
The delegation conducted in-depth interviews with various stakeholders such as local authorities, cooperatives, trading businesses, purchasing facilities, wholesale and retail markets, and dragon fruit-growing households. These interviews took place in Phan Thiet City, Ham Thuan Nam District, and Ham Thuan Bac District to gather detailed information about the dragon fruit production and consumption situation, as well as the difficulties and risks faced by these stakeholders in the production and consumption process.
The delegation received wholehearted support from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Thuan province, as well as officials and local people to visit purchasing facilities, farming households, and other stakeholders. As a result, the delegation conducted interviews with 60 individuals from various stakeholders related to dragon fruit production and supply, gathering significant and useful information to support research and carry out further project activities.
The Sub-project 5 hopes to continue receiving support from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Thuan province as well as local authorities in the subsequent activities to successfully achieve the Sub-project’s objectives.
