Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Tung, Rector of Quy Nhon University, emphasized that QNU consistently plays a pioneering role in research, technology transfer, and community service.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>H\u2082S Adsorbent Materials from Agricultural By-products: A Green Solution for Biogas Systems<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A key highlight of the workshop was the presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Vuong \u2013 Project Leader of Project 2 \u2013 on the synthesis of H\u2082S adsorbent materials using metal oxides combined with locally available agricultural by-products. These materials have been tested in household-scale biogas systems and demonstrated high efficiency in removing toxic H\u2082S gas, helping to reduce odors and protect biogas equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThis is a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach with strong potential for replication, especially in rural areas where biogas systems are being developed,\u201d emphasized Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Ngoc Loan \u2013 Project 2 member \u2013 introduced an improved solar-powered drying system for agricultural products. The new design reduces energy costs, shortens drying time, and preserves the color and quality of post-harvest produce. Attendees appreciated the practical applicability of the technologies, especially in the context of modernizing agriculture with a focus on efficiency and environmental sustainability. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Trung \u2013 Head of the Research Affairs and International Relations Office \u2013 announced that Project 2 is preparing to install biogas-to-electricity conversion equipment at QNU\u2019s Nhon Tan Experimental Station. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Tung \u2013 Rector of QNU \u2013 reaffirmed the university\u2019s commitment to scientific research, technology transfer, and community service. He expressed gratitude to local partners, especially the 24 farming households in Binh Thanh (Tay Son District) and Phuoc Hung (Tuy Phuoc District), who participated in technology trials and provided valuable feedback. Their involvement has been crucial in ensuring the long-term societal impact of the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Project 2 under the IUC\u2013QNU Program is implemented in collaboration with leading Belgian universities, including KU Leuven, Ghent, Hasselt, Antwerp, HOGent, and VIVES.
