SUB-PROJECT 5: SURVEY ON RISKS ASSESSMENT IN THE JUJUBE SUPPLY CHAIN IN NINH THUAN PROVINCE
In August 2024, team members in Sub-project 5 conducted two surveys targeting jujube farming households and stakeholders within the jujube supply chain in Ninh Thuan Province. The first survey took place from August 5th to August 12th, 2024, aiming to conduct in-depth interviews with 80 participants, including local authorities, businesses, cooperatives, and jujube farming households, regarding current practices in cultivation, consumption, and processing, as well as the risks associated with the jujube supply chain in Ninh Thuan Province.
Subsequently, the team continued with a survey of 350 jujube farming households across four districts/cities in Ninh Thuan Province to assess the types of risks faced by farmers in Ninh Thuan (from August 19th to August 25th, 2024). The survey resulted in 100 responses from Phan Rang – Thap Cham City, 150 responses from Ninh Phuoc District, 50 responses from Ninh Son District, and 50 responses from Ninh Hai District.
We also visited jujube farms to understand the current situation, gaining further insights into the cultivation and production techniques employed by the jujube farming households in Ninh Thuan Province. Additionally, the team visited jujube trading and processing businesses in Ninh Thuan to observe the production and processing lines of jujube products, as well as to understand the business operations of these enterprises.
Finally, the team compiled and processed the data from both surveys to analyze the risks in the jujube supply chain in Ninh Thuan.
