Institutional assessment conducted by external assessors at Quy Nhon University in the selection process of the IUC Programme

Following the self-assessment of Quy Nhon University (QNU) at institutional level, the institutional assessment was conducted by external assessors from the C-lever organization in Belgium during a more-than-one-week period, from 22nd to 30th of July 2020.

This is an important step in the selection process for applicants to the IUC Programme funded by the VLIR-UOS Foundation of Belgium. The IUC programme is known as an institutional university cooperation programme between a selected multidisciplinary university in developing countries (the South) and the universities in Flanders of Belgium (the South) to enhance the capacity of the selected university. Though Mr. Julien Moriceau, the lead assessor, could not travel to Vietnam due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he managed to successfully work online with Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Quyen, an international assessor living in Vietnam, working on-site at QNU during the field phase.

The purpose of the institutional assessment is: (1) to better understand the current institutional capacity of candidate universities; (2) to assess the match of the institution with the IUC principles /characteristics; 3) to verify data that was already shared in the initial concept note and to collect additional data needed for the selection commission of VLIR-UOS, Flemish partners and other stakeholders. The external assessors carried out many interviews with various stakeholders and visited around the university campus during the field phase.
